Our physiotherapists Emily and Jenny have an
interest in addressing the specific health problems that women may
experience. We offer antenatal and postnatal classes for the child-bearing
years, as well as individual physiotherapy for women of all stages of
life.
Antenatal care - Mums 2 B With Energy
Mums 2 B With Energy is
an antenatal exercise programme run by Emily and Jenny to
assist mums-to-be with safe, simple and fun Clinical Pilates exercises
as they encounter physical changes during pregnancy in area such as posture, balance, joint laxity and fatigue.
In a
small group situation, there is a focus on low impact aerobics using physioball, stretching and floor work for muscle strengthening, with
time allowed for questions and answers.
Evening and daytime classes offered.

Health fund rebates available. Mums-to-be
should check with their GP and attend an initial assessment with the
physiotherapist prior to joining these groups.
Postnatal care - bouncing back into shape after baby
A class for mums and
babies (under 1 year) involving Clinical Pilates exercises using
physioballs.

Double the fun - mum and baby aqua class
Hydrotherapy Pool, Albany Regional Hospital
A water-based exercise
class for mums and babies (at least 3 months old). Mums get a
chance to relax and stretch out in warm water ... then babies join in
and you can both exercise together.
