Post-op Rehab

To achieve the best possible outcome following surgery it is usually advisable to do some strengthening work in preparation. The stronger that you go into an operation, the quicker you will recover.

Following surgery sometimes your surgeon will refer you to physiotherapy. Some surgeons do not always refer patients to physiotherapy after surgery but this does not mean that you should not do physiotherapy!

Physiotherapists are able to help reduce any post-operative swelling which will reduce pain. This all helps to get you on the move again and feeling much better. We are also trained to provide exercises to stretch and strengthen following surgery.

Different types of surgery obviously require different types of treatment and exercises. Please call us if you have any questions and our physiotherapists will be happy to assist you.

If your surgeon has not provided you with any exercises and you are not sure what you should or should not be doing following your operation we will be happy to contact them and find out for you.
